6. Love Scam: scammers develop online relationships and romance and then request payments for fake emergencies such as sickness, accident, gun shot and many other things
Although this may not directly be considered a form of crypto scam, people still need to be careful about the associations they form in the name of love. I've personally seen some strangers come to my DMs claiming to have found love in odd places. The common thing about these love scammers is that they usually end up having urgent financial needs involving huge amounts, which they claim they will pay back once they sort out whatever is wrong with their bank accounts.

Now, one may ask how this affects their crypto holdings. These scammers might manipulate you into selling off your coins or even sending some coins to them. Some might even trick you into exposing your private keys, all in the name of love.

Like I always say, strangers should be treated as strangers, no matter how they come into your space. These scammers are wise and very tricky, so you should be wise too in all your dealings with people whose backgrounds you don’t know
