You're making a sense here, when you someone wants to accumulate his bitcoin that person most be up doing, meaning the person most not be interested on to make a profit instantly, at least the person most have a time frame or target as you say, but for the person not to be on panic side, I think that the person most have a sustainable income, if you have the mindset to accumulate bitcoin to 1btc before  1 to 2 years, you most have what generate income for you that sustained you, but if you have, the chances of you not to achieve your targets is there, so we need to understand such, I know that when investing for the first time it always be  difficult and they will be fear on you as first timer for such, especially when you don't have backup, both long term investment and short-term is all about determination.
Do you mean short-term investment i.e. trading? The term short-term seems a bit annoying and confusing to me along with long-term investment. Long-term investment and short-term trading are both different types or different in nature. If you try to put these two words in the same box, you will be wrong.

Long-term investment which is like building a company which you have to invest slowly and patiently until you reach the target. Similarly, long-term investment which is patiently and consistently holding your investment for a long time to reach the target. I think it is better to forget your hodling before reaching the target. Focusing only on the face is the main goal of an investor.

If you plan long-term investment and decide to invest by being tempted by short-term profits, then you are making a mistake. Even I never recognize short-term hodling as an investment, it is like trading. Where buying during dips and selling during bullish periods is the main objective. Small profits are the main thing in trading, there is no target or fixed time frame. A trader prefers to ignore long-term high profits in the greed of small recent profits.
