Gujarat Giants Women Vs UP Warriorz Women
Today is the third match between Gujarat Giants and UP Warriorz Women. Gujarat Giants already lost their first game against RCB Women. Beth Mooney and Ashleigh Gardner played well in that game, both making over 50 runs and we can hope they will play even better today. However the Giants are very inexperienced in bowling. Also Simran Shaikh have to play well as she was auctioned by Gujarat Giants at a very high price.
Whereas it will be a first game for UP Warriorz. All to play for today. Deepti Sharma will lead this team and let's see how these bit of inexperience players play against the Giants.
UP Warriorz Women did not bat well in the 3rd match of WPL. With a target of only 143 runs, the team did not have much chance of winning and that is what we got at the end of the match. In the Gujarat Giants Women match, we expected Australian batsman Beth Mooney to give a good innings but she returned to zero runs. The match was a bit difficult at that time but the other members of the team used that time very well. Due to their skillful batting, the team was able to win the match easily losing only 4 wickets.
UP Warriorz Women also had some good batsmen, especially Deepti Sharma who was capable of batting well. She also scored well in this match, scoring 39 runs off 27 balls, but that score was not enough for the team. If the other batsmen had done a little better, then some more scores would have been added in the match and it would have been difficult for Gujarat Giants to win the match.
In this season, all three matches have been completed at Kotambi Stadium, Vadodara venue. In all three matches, all three teams won the toss and decided to bowl, followed by a target chase. Gujarat Women scored 200+ runs batting first in the first match but they could not win. It is clear that the toss is very important. After losing the toss in the first match but winning the toss in the third match, Gujarat Women decided to bowl and restrict WP Women to 143 runs. Chasing 144 runs was easy for Gujarat women team as we have already seen that Gujarat women team scored 200 plus in the first match. Dayalan Hemalatha, Beth Mooney lost wickets in two consecutive overs for Gujarat women's team to bat, but Gardner and Wolvaardt put on 55 runs for the third wicket to take control of the match very easily. Dottin and Harleen Deol put on an unbeaten 58 to win the match easily by 6 wickets. Although UP Warriors women did not perform well in the first match of the tournament but they have good batsmen and bowlers and they have the ability to come back in the next match.
