Chelsea are in a bad position this year. The club have recorded a total eight games in 2025 winning just three, losing three including back to back loses to Brighton in the FA cup and EPl respectively and drawing two. They urgently need to step up or else they will lose the top four place at the end of the season.
What the chelsea squad showed at the beginning of the season actually made us have confidence that they would be one of the title contenders this season, especially this season they have made a lot of talented young recruits, so it is not surprising that high expectations are imposed by fans on the maresca squad, but after being able to appear very consistent and even enter the title competition but instead they are starting inconsistent and even currently must to drop out from big four zone.
I remember Maresca once said that this season they have no ambition to win the championship in an interview after the match, so in my opinion, his words seemed to has lowered the mentality of his players, because after maresca say that, chelsea slowly began to show poor inconsistency in their matches.
