Further more, from knowledge to experience, it can be turned into wisdom. With only knowledge and not applying them to day-to-day activities is a waste, or experience not realized is also turned into waste. Having wisdom applied to each experience can give us the best outcome. Indeed it is up to the person investing but it is said to be a mistake if the person intend to take profit in a short period of time. The reason behind this is the high volatility of Bitcoin in its short term. We have seen Bitcoin price see-saw and if one is not patient enough, he might end up liquidating his investment at a loss (weak hand), not waiting for the market to recover and eventually rally.
It is a good decision of @OP to go for a long-term investment while learning the curve of the Bitcoin economy.
