If you invest in bitcoin with the motive of selling it when the price get to a sating level it then mean you are a semi trader, and you are the gambling at the same time, you are not an investor, because a real investor we keep accumulating bitcoin and hold unto it for long period of time, 5 to 10 years or more depending on your target, because every investors must not have the same target and the same mindset when it comes to bitcoin investment.
If you buy bitcoin and decide to hold for 1 to 2 circle do you also consider such person as a semi trader? Because holding for that long period might be for different purpose but making profit is always part of that reason, for that 5 to 10 years period a holder can actually have a speculated price in mind where he picture bitcoin to be at that point in time even if it don’t get their or get above that expected price, holding for long does not restrict the investor from having a selling price target.
If you are holding for just 2 years it still falls closer to someone who is trading so yes it is different from long term investment which makes it trading literally. My point is someone who is really a long term investor basically thinks in 2 to 3 cycles not just one or two years of investing. A cycle is about 4 years so 2 cycles is 8 years and 3 cycles is above a decade. The fact still remains that if you are holding for a specif target in mind for 2 years or less, you are as well speculating when you want to sell. That is more like trading where you wait for a point you consider a perfect exit point and it is different. Let us not mistake this, and i will try to make it more easier now for you. Long term investor holds through ups and downs, they focus on accumulating all through the time someone who is waiting for an exit point to sell and the main goal is that they focus on the bigger future that Bitcoin can give rather than the short benefit they can get for the few years. This is the difference between the traders and long term investors.
