Some skills are actually better paying than owning a business, depending on the skill and how good you are with it. The same thing is also applicable with owning a business and how good you are with it. Tackling all the challenges like competition and customer relationships will determine how the business will be.
Work, skills or business can pay higher based on the level. If your skill is rare and the demand for people like you that can do good jobs people will offer you high for you to work with them. Even some work pays high because of how dangerous and risky the jobs is. A typical example of such work are seamen and rig workers. They are paid high because of the nature of the job. Above all is business. An established man with a flourishing business can yield money more than having a skill or work. Business is like printing money, you can be sleeping and the business i bring in money for you every single minute.
