I wouldn't use the Debian repository for Electrum, and we should discourage newbies from doing so also. The repository is always several versions behind, which could (and has in the past) pose security risks.
I agree, although people who use Debian as their OS probably already know risk of using such conservative distro. And while someone perform backport for Electrum, it took some before it's on the repository. For example, Electrum 4.4.6 released August 18, 2023 to fix LN security issue[1], but the security patch arrived on Debian on 18 Sep 2023 or 1 month later.
