If your intention is daily predictions, I recommend creating a publication system. For example: every time you make a new prediction, edit your post and add the date in the title. Also, in the body, list the previous and current matches, if you won, lost, or drew if that's the case, for a more reader-friendly thread.
Yea, the suggestion is okay if he can implement it and it will also be better understood by members who would want to go ahead is picking the selected game. The reason why some threads that features this same idea is not able to stand for a long time is because the OPs of similar threads doesn't properly construct the thread and doesn't care to update it from time to time. They usually lose interest along the line.
Yeah, losing interest is the real problem with most users who have come up with threads like this, i personally have come across several number of threads like this where after a while, it goes to oblivion because the op is no longer updating the thread with new predictions, and this is quite understandable the reason for the loss of interest, which is often as a result of a number of consecutive loses, this is one major challenge with stuffs like this.
Imagine starting your own sports prediction thread and getting everyone interested in seeing what the outcome of your games will be, only to (after getting the first prediction right) end up getting the second, third, forth and maybe even fifth wrong, it makes the op to easily loose interests because even if he doesn't, the reader will also lose interest in him of her because they can't see any value in his or her predictions.
