I haven't seen anything elsewhere on the forum about the phenomenal Bybit hack that has just taken place. The hackers are said to be from the Lazarus group, and they are allegedly reselling the fruit of the thefts. Evidently a massive withdrawal of cryptos is taking place right now, while Bybit's funds would be sufficient to cover the losses. You can follow this infernal saga on X.  Shocked
I sympathize with everyone who was a victim but it becomes another lesson to those who have refused to learn that storing on CEX is bad, and to those who also have no idea about it because of their newness to cryptocurrency. This is very discouraging to those who are not strong willed and will likely quit cryptocurrency with this kind of news accepting to stay with traditional banks because they have a place they can go to complain when thinmgs like this happen to them.

I'm grateful for the person who introduced me to cryptocurrency because I was well warned about all this both from the person and from members of this forum. I think guidance is a very important side of learning cryptocurrency and for anybody new in cryptocurrency who we introduce to it we should take it a personal responsibility to make sure that they do not fall victim to this kind of issues by educating them properly on how to store their cryptocurrency.
