It's halftime at the Santiago Bernabeu in the Spanish La Liga game between reigning champions Real Madrid and Girona with Luka Modric's spectacular effort separating the two teams. The home team dominated the first half but struggled to break Girona's resilience until the 41st minute when the Croatia national team captain scored a golazo to give Real Madrid the lead before halftime. Real Madrid needs to win this game to keep their hopes of overtaking league leaders Barcelona alive and leading 1:0 at halftime against Girona, I think they should be able to snatch a victory at full time.
What a spectacular volley from Luka Modric, I really wasn't expecting that volley from him. Jude Bellingham had to exclaim "Wow" before he started clapping from the stans.
Both team is separated from each other by that goal as you said,  it's 55 minutes on the clock now and we hope to see more goals from this game.
Yeah, literally, that was a banger strike for the Luka Modric. He spotted a top right corner with such a bullet strike to make ahead his team with a 2-goal lead. But anyway, the match has been over, and Real Madrid has won the match with 2 goals, one goal by Luka Modric and another one by Vinicius Junior. In the first half Girona made some good chances, but they failed to score a goal. In the second half, Real Madrid have fully dominated the game. They created so many chances, but due to the lack of finishing skill, they missed all of them.

In addition, Real Madrid has grabbed the 3 points successfully to maintain its place at the second. Despite their points being the same as Barcelona's, due to goal difference, they have the 2nd position in the league standings. Now Real Madrid needs to work consistently until the last match otherwise, they will not be able to catch up to Barcelona till the end of the league matches. Like if they lose more points, it will be hard for them to catch up Barcelona.
