For personally, I do not find doing such important, infact, I am very sure keeping a betting log has it's advantages and disadvantages, and here, I think the disadvantage outweighs the advantage.
One of the disadvantage is that it could fuel addiction to gambling, seeing and knowing your loses at all time may put in you the zeal or desire to want to gamble more often to see if your could close the gab between your loses and wins, with time, gambling may become a major part of the individual even without him or her knowing it.
So, I still will prefer to gamble without keeping any record, there are some things not worth remembering all the time and thinking about, and ones loses to gambling or betting is one of those.
