The problem is that the modern world has tied it's happiness around money and physical assets,  while these can bring satisfaction, they shouldn't be a hallmark of happiness. This is because once they are gone, happiness automatically disappears. True happiness should be from your everyday life and the relationship you have with people irrespective of social status and financial status.. this helps you see the good in people and the positives side of living away from the aspect of money.
No, not necessarily. Some people have money and still aren't happy, those who tied they're happiness to money have ended up disappointed even when they had the money, because money provides temporary happiness and not necessarily a permanent one.

Happiness is what you can achieve by yourself, not dependent on any external factor but in yourself and your mindset. Everybody is a work in progress and our ways of achieving happiness is different. Mine is charity, proactiveness, happy interaction with people (especially family), achieving my little targets and keeping a positive mindset.
