In terms of turning passions to profit, it is way harder to earn from a hobby that was self taught than to earn from other skills or jobs or as an employee under a boss.
I think those who are crazy enough to turn their hobbies into a source of income and attain wealth unimaginable in the end know how hard it is to be patient, consistent and persistent despite criticisms and many setbacks, to get to where they are today as successful. Whereas those who get employed and have to work to earn a salary or earn from a skill that was learned somehow, don't encounter this much difficulty that may lead to financial freedom and breakthrough.

Situational basis because doing up your passion and making it as your business or investment or something that could make you rich. Good for those who have been able to take up that path on which they have been able to achieve success basing up into their passion and interest, but majority is really that being shackled with this common system or cycle we do have on which we are imprisoned with that 8-5 job and there's nothing we can do specially if we cant be able to see such opportunity and leaving out no choice but to get some job because we are really that needing up that money in order for us to live. You would be mainly thinking about on how to survive and even if its against your interest or passion then you would be definitely go into another options on which is available and you wouldnt be finding any other ways.
Earning with your hobby is great but its not something which is really that very simple for you to be able to acquire on. There are really just that those moments or times that it turned out to be having that little bit mix of luck because trying out to have some idea will be somewhat saturated, not unless if its something that being unique then most likely you will be able to have that success but not all will really be able to experience up on the same condition. This is why i have said above that it will really be that situational because outcomes and results will never be known or what would happen ahead.
