In terms of turning passions to profit, it is way harder to earn from a hobby that was self taught than to earn from other skills or jobs or as an employee under a boss.
I think those who are crazy enough to turn their hobbies into a source of income and attain wealth unimaginable in the end know how hard it is to be patient, consistent and persistent despite criticisms and many setbacks, to get to where they are today as successful. Whereas those who get employed and have to work to earn a salary or earn from a skill that was learned somehow, don't encounter this much difficulty that may lead to financial freedom and breakthrough.
What do you think?
In order for somebody to earn from his/her hobby, he/she needs to have a skill that would help him to be better.
Let's say for example, my hobby is playing computer games particularly MOBA games. If I want to earn from playing what I love to do, I need to have a skill... and I mean lots of skill for me to earn a living from it. Just look at those Esports players right now. They're earning from what they love to do and that's playing MOBA games, and that's because they have the skills to do it.
Yes, it's harder, but for me, it's more worth it. I mean earning from something that you also love to do is the one thing that everybody wants to happen with them... or at least for most. I'm an online gamer, and I really love playing online games, but unfortunately, I can't make a living from it. I want to try livestreaming or at least upload some videos on YouTube, but somehow I feel that I'm not good enough to do it.
Anyway, this is somewhat connected TBH. Whether you want to make a money from your hobbies, or being an employee under a boss, you still need skills in order to become financially stable.
