Arsenal certainly helped Liverpool and itself left (practically, theoretically there are still chances) the title race. But nevertheless, already at the end of February we know with 99% probability who will get gold and silver. Not very interesting, right? City are dethroned and this good news makes the lack of intrigue fade into the background, but it is still a negative.
There's something I have come to understand about Arsenal and Liverpool at this point, no matter how many points Liverpool seem to lose for Arsenal to take advantage of they can not at all, if Liverpool lost like 6pt and the Gunners needed like a win to top they can not get the job done at all because they I mean the Gunners don't have the materials to get the job done. At first I saw this game between City and Liverpool as a game Pep would smash but Liverpool did what they need to do, waiting and pressing but still under pressure not to make mistakes but as soon as the first goal entered City started panicking, coming out to get an equalizer which they know they can't withstand the counter attack of Liverpool, the game was just all about Liverpool after the first goal and for Arsenal they need to come back next season with the same style of fighting for the title.
Arsenal have a lower percentage of points per game, that's obvious, so the longer the distance the more the gap between Liverpool and Arsenal increases, that's logical. Every team loses points sometimes, but Liverpool loses the least.
I don't know why you expected a good result from City, the team looks completely destroyed and Pep hasn't been able to do anything for about 30 games. I doubt he's even capable of doing anything without spending another 2 billion.
You how football is, when you expect a bigger team to win a game against a smaller team you'd see the bigger team losing the game to a smaller team and you'd ask if this is suppose to happen for a stronger team to lose against a weaker team, that's the same angle I'm coming from for expecting a dead Manchester City to beat Liverpool. Let's forget about Arsenal because I see them as another complete finished team for never getting things right every season.
About City and why I expected them to win against Liverpool is because we know how City behaves when they come against a bigger side that's competing for the title, I thought Pep would do everything possible to get at least a point if not winning the game and we know that the Reds are avoiding mistakes and they won't want to drop another 2pt so to me City needed to be strong in that encounter but after the whole thing nothing is left in that team Manchester City, it was really disappointing and even their attack was poor.
