Can someone explain to me why Antony did this stupid thing? Cheesy

That should not have been a penalty in my opinion. He did not go with the intent to harm, neither did he go with the under of his boot. He felt the player wanted to go that way so he tried to intercept the pass. It's a foul that's for sure, a yellow card will be a harsh punishment but a red card is such an awful call. If he has been warned before he can be given a yellow card, if he was on a yellow, he can receive a second yellow and get a red card, but a straight red card? Nah, that's just horrible officiating, but I'm not surprised, It's La Liga.

I think Betis should appeal the decision because they can have the decision overturned. A straight red card for that challenge is unfair.

Indeed, even though it was a foul, Antony should have only received a yellow card and not a red card. But even though the referee did not make the right decision, at least Betis had a safe score to end the match with a win. If for example Antony did not make a tackle like that, then maybe Betis played very perfectly in that away match, because in reality Betis played very clean because they did not have any other cards other than the  one Antony got.

Also, Antony was the assist for Betis' first goal and thus, basically Antony has been very consistent in making good contributions to Betis since his arrival. But unfortunately, Antony received a red card which had to be absent in the next match against Real Madrid, it was really a very unfortunate moment for Antony to be absent in the match against Real Madrid later. But even so,Betis still has a chance to enter the top six  by overtaking Rayo Vallecano.
