I don't know anything about Alex's history or what he did for you. Regardless of that, each case should be looked at independently. That's true with this one as well.

The moderators aren't going to ban anyone for the simple reason that scams aren't moderated on Bitcointalk. You won't get banned for scamming someone or lying about being scammed. At best, the community agrees with your evidence and gives negative feedback to the guilty party.
