Nothing from the government will affect bitcoin. Bitcoin will be accepted as a means of payment because bitcoin is not controlled by any central bank or government. It provides financial freedom to users. With technological development and increasing awareness among the public bitcoin may become more popular in the future.

Are you sure about this? I agree that the government has failed to stop bitcoin but I don't believe bitcoin can become popular and widely used without government legalization and permission. The government may not be able to stop it but they have enough power to make it unpopular if they want to, so I don't believe bitcoin will become a means of payment without government approval.

If the US government suddenly banned bitcoin right now, I bet bitcoin's popularity would drop rapidly and the situation would be worse if many other countries followed suit. Don't underestimate the power and what government can do. Also, have you seen any stores that accept bitcoin payments and do you use bitcoin as currency in your country when the government doesn't allow it? I'm also sure you wouldn't dare do that, so again, don't underestimate the government.
