There is no excuse for what the coach did in my opinion because based on his position he should be professional and try defending his players not hanging them out to dry like he did to our star boy. It is a big shame and it will remain a big shame to Italian football if the coach of Atalanta is not made to make some sort of apology or some penalty for his rash use of words targeted towards our African best. It was Osimhen, now Lookman, which other african player will be next?
The coach should have restrained himself from making such uncalled comments. They have said it was out of frustration, I don't think so. Is he so short-term in his thinking to forget that they are were they are because the young man performance. It was ridden with a lack of emotional intelligence.
Lookman handled it perfectly well. From his response on the internet one could tell how hurt it was because it was going from his own. If it were a coach of another club, it wouldn't have hurt so much but coming from your own camp, a place where you are supposed to e defended and not castigated in that manner was too much.
The manager need to apologize to him however, if he doesn't, it is alright. Lookman should be counting his days there.
