Even though I didn't watch the game, I think Empoli deserves the win because I see no reason why a team like Juventus will be struggling week in and week out. Now Juventus can focus all their attention on Serie A, they have lost their only chance to win a trophy. Empoli exceeded everyone expectations, they were very fortunate to reach the semi finals. Next, Empoli will face Bologna, while AC Milan will face Inter. The ideal final that was hoped for, between Juventus and AC Milan or Inter Milan, failed to materialize. It is very likely that this season Coppa Italia final will be between Bologna and Inter Milan.
Thiago Motta seems to be having quite a difficult time in his first season, fortunately Juventus has now managed to break into the top four of the Serie A standings. A Champions League ticket is now Thiago Motta main target, in my opinion that is a guarantee to keep his job as manager next season.
