Am not sure if this will be a good idea to keep check of our betting logs because some people might go crazy when they see the total amount of money they have wagered. However if you are doing gamble for pleasure there's no need to keep check of it because you don't care as you already believed you are gambling responsibly and any money you gamble with is the amount you can afford to risk. Gambler that wagers because of the potential winning won't be happy to see when their loss is bigger than their winning because they will chase the loss and try to recover or make sure that their winning is bigger than their loss.
You really record the expenses that we have used to gamble not to be a solution to be able to refrain from moving when we have seen spending too much money to gamble and I agree with you can make us surprised or even go crazy and I think gambling for pleasure, of course we will not do too often so that we don't need to record and also will not spend too much money for gambling but it is very difficult to do by those who have been addicted to gambling.
