You're right, most people don't always accept the fact that they are addicted into gambling. You know sometimes I keep wondering why they always find it very difficult to accept that they are addicted, or is it because they don't want people to know about it. Or maybe they don't see themselves as someone who is addicted into gambling, is obvious that majority of gamblers don't even know if they are addicted or not.
I think that people who are addicts do not accept the fact of being addicts because it represents something bad for them and for society, they want to show that what they are doing is totally under control and is within normal levels, that is why they do not accept it , they do not want to know or realize that it is a very silent problem and that they need to accept that if there is a Problem they must attack it quickly,
I do not know if it is pride, shame, embarrassment, but I think it goes in that Direction.
Those are some reason why most addicted gambler doesn't agree that they are addicted but some of them are just too blinded by the addiction that they don't even realize that they are addicted, for them it's not really pride or shame but they are just too confused to know that they are addicted and that's a very bad situation because even if you try to make the personal understand that they are addicted, they will never believe.
