1. Can do it on any other platforms, but not here. They can be banned, so that would end their ability to make more posts 2. Probably need a forum specific rule. So I'll modify #5 into this: no spamming or self-promotion. Also adding in general advertising and posting links without content to promote others (such as websites/services), unless they have something useful or informative for the rest of us to read. Not every user will be able to tell when a thread is high quality, so I'll add a link to this topic into new users welcome post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5057802.msg45084885#msg45084885 4. We already have it as a rule - no referral links are to be posted in signature. For the rest of them, I don't agree. Since they're being informative, it doesn't fall under spam category. People will probably not read that thread just because there's a useless post inside, and if they do read it, it's easy for them to use CTRL+F and search for actual useful info, so as long as you make this kind of posts rare enough, I wouldn't see any problem in letting them be made. It's their choice whether or not to read something. I could make the last rule about posting referral links without content or with general advertising more specific and only allow posts that would give information relevant with crypto. Or we can go with option above - if they have useful info, then there shouldn't really be a problem letting them in signature. But you're right, most of them will just try to sell coins/services, so it's better to remove all of them into the bottom section. In general I agree that this is much needed. Especially now, with the amount of daily posts being made.
