I spread information about bitcoin for those who are serious about bitcoin only, but for family or close friends of course I take the initiative to spread information about bitcoin. because I want them to also be able to feel the benefits when investing in bitcoin for their future. But still do not forget to inform the risks that will occur, after that the choice is still in their own hands because I do not want to force their choice.
I also did the same way. I never spread the information or share my knowledge on Bitcoin to the people who are likely not interested in Bitcoin. Even for the family members, I won't explain it to them if they aren't interested in. I think it only wastes time to share information to the people who have no intention to understand it because they will always have the reasons to refuse it. Unless they ask me, I won't share anything to them. Well, for most family members and close friends, they know well that I'm involved in crypto business. So, there is no need to force them to know it!! 
Sure, when we share the information, we must explain in a detail and completely. They must know the advantages and disadvantages. It includes the potential of profits and the chance of losses.
