Arteta himself has given up on the title this season after losing to West Ham and sharing points with Nottingham Forest. Sakà returning to the team won't change a thing. The best they can get with his return is strengthen their position as second which has been the heightest they have gone in past few seasons.
We can't say that Arteta has given up on the title race because Liverpool has played 28 games and Arsenal has only played 27 which means they still have an outstanding match to play which if they win, the gap will drop from 13 to 10 points and who knows if anything can happen to Liverpool towards the ending periods of the season such that Arsenal may become resilient and surprise majority of people by overthrowing Liverpool at the top of the table. Due to how Arsenal have been jeopardizing their chances of getting closer to Liverpool has made people not to put their trust on Arsenal again but we should not forget that this England Premier League is always full of shocking moments especially when the season is getting near to end. Arsenal should not keep settling for the second position, Arteta and his boys should try and use new formats that will work for the team and lead them to winning trophies instead of always ending as a runner up to the champions.
The league journey still leaves 10 matches left for Liverpool and 11 for Arsenal with a difference of 13 points in the current English league standings, although indeed the opportunity to thwart Liverpool champions at the end of this season is still open to other teams including Arsenal, but I think it will be difficult for us to see this will happen with the performance and consistency that has been shown by Liverpool so far, many experiences that occur when a team fails to get trophies even though they lead the standings in mid-season, because towards the end of season their rival managed to rise, but in the case of this season, I don't see arsenal having the ability to thwart liverpool champions and maybe it will be different when manchester city becomes a serious challenger to liverpool in the race for the title as happened last 2019 season, although arsenal has shown good performance throughout the season but their poor mentality and consistency have always been the reason for their failure to reach trophies so far.
