Fans will surely support Amorim's move to bring in James Trafford from Burnley. That's because of his impressive performances in the Championship League which also played a significant role in making Burnley the team that conceded the fewest goals.
Fans will hope United give their best effort to compete with Newcastle who have previously been interested in the goalkeeper. However, having a goalkeeper who performs well throughout the season will be Amorim's focus in building his team. So far Onana has not provided that.
I don't think so. While James Trafford is a young and talented goalkeeper I don't believe he would be a fantastic addition to Manchester United. Given the issues currently facing the club, Manchester United needs a proven goalkeeper with a track record of success to the highest level, someone who can provide both a short term fix and a long term solution to their goalkeeping woes.
Amorim is not satisfied with Onana's performance, so it is natural to want to bring in a goalkeeper who has good potential. The problem at United is not just the goalkeeper, Amorim realizes that, and the defense and attack lines must also be considered. Amorim will have a lot of work to do to build his team, but I doubt that his wishes will be fulfilled by the club. If United gives Amorim everything he wants to build his team, I am sure United will really burn a lot of money in the transfer market.
