There are also different continuation scenarios. For example, when winning, the player may not be satisfied and continue playing because he will lose the sense of stopping and greed will dictate his further play. We know how this usually ends, although as you mentioned without great risk there will be no big wins, it is important to stop in time.

But if the player loses and cannot stop, then these are already psychological problems in that the player does not know how to lose. Of course, this can be good, but certainly not in gambling, where it seems that it sucks him in more and more each time, when the player loses control of himself. This is a very scary feeling, I do not want to experience it again and so I learned to tell myself to stop.
That's what actually becomes dangerous where someone loses control over themselves so that when they lose they will continue to chase victory or just to return the amount of defeat they experienced. That doesn't help at all, because instead of being able to return the amount of defeat they experienced before, they actually continue to lose even more money.
Even for gamblers who can control themselves before, the risk of losing control over themselves is still there if emotions attack. Because when emotions start to enter, then sooner or later we can ignore something that we really shouldn't ignore.
