If I enter the site on the web without the extension it does work and yes the site is still working fine except that that pop-up came up when I launched my chrome on my PC. This doesn't have any much bad effects as I may have think.
As at yesterday when I first saw this post I had some issues accessing the forum though I later discovered it was something from my end related to my carrier. Nevertheless as for you issue, I suggest you actually clear unnecessary data and cache from your browser and then update it.
After that you can proceed to uninstalling the extension and reinstalling it once again. Also just for clarity sake make sure java script loading is permitted on your chrome too.
