If I enter the site on the web without the extension it does work and yes the site is still working fine except that that pop-up came up when I launched my chrome on my PC. This doesn't have any much bad effects as I may have think.

The BPIP browser extension does not influence the functionality or visibility of the bpip.org website
The BPIP extension only adds the additional show of certain information on the bitcointalk forum, which was collected from the bpip.org site. If you click on the bpip icon in the browser, you will see all the offered features and you can turn them on/off as you wish.

All features are configurable (on/off, some with additional settings like custom themes). Features that automatically send requests to BPIP or Ninjastic are off by default, other features are on by default.
