Well, he won the election so it’s clear that at least for now americans support him. It would depend on the long run what can he do during his administration and whether can he fulfill all his promises from his election campaign.

If by the end of his term, and he hasn’t done many of what he has claimed to do or has done them quite the opposite the  surely americans will go against him.
