“I always liked one currency. I call it a currency. I like the dollar, but a lot of people are doing it [Bitcoin] and frankly, it's taken on a life of its own,” Trump replied. “You probably have to do some regulation, as you know, but many people are embracing it. And more and more, I'm seeing people wanting to pay Bitcoin, and you're seeing something that's interesting, so I can live with it one way or the other.”[/i]
You would understand his stands from that statement. As a president of a nation like the US, where many nations use both the dollar and gold for a standard/reserve currency and store of value respectively, it would be a bit odd not to put the dollar ahead of Bitcoin or make statements that would undermine the dollar. So you would understand how and why he had to take such stands towards the dollar and Bitcoin. He didn’t really speak bad of it, he just made sure the dollar came first and pointed out the need by government to regulate the use of Bitcoin which is almost impossible outside centralized systems that exists within the cryptospace.
