I just finished reading the cointelegraph article that you shared, and from what I read there, I learnt that Ben Zhou was angered by a post from an X user who has no affiliation with Pi network, who claimed that bybit KYB request to Pi network as a way to get verified to list Pi was rejected, this angered the CEO of Binance whom in response accused pi network of being a scam.
This can be a most funniest accusation I have ever known of. A centralized exchange has to do KYC to a project, to list that coin on their exchange. Jesus, is it how an open blockchain for everyone should work. With smart contract, you can add it to your exchange if you want, nothing to do KYC to a project. I don't think that reason from Pi network team makes any sense, and I believe that Ben Zhou did not do any KYC to Pi Network team for listing offer, and he was not angry when making that post.
As much as the reason for the CEO doing or saying what he said was understandable, it's still very unprofessional of him to move on to lay such accusations without first making sure to verify every fact and ensure they are all authentic, really unprofessional considering his person and his value/importance to the society and the cryptocurrency community at large, boils down to the fact that no man is an island of knowledge no matter how influential they are.
I believe he was professional by saying this fact and I see his action is like what CZ did to say fact about FTX years ago.
