Barcelona has secured 100% win in the last five matches, while Real Madrid has won only one of the last five matches and they have drawn two matches and lost the other two matches. Through the last five matches throughout the entire season, however, the points table has changed so much. 
If Real Madrid could perform the same performance as Barcelona did in the last five matches, then Real Madrid would have more points than Barcelona. I don't know what Real Madrid's plan is, but they should not only plan for the Champions League but they should also plan for the La Liga as well as the Champions League. Just as they secured the La Liga title last season and then won the Champions Trophy, they have a good chance of doing the same this season. If Real Madrid come into the field with a better plan and if they are a little more serious in La Liga, I believe they will return to the best position in La Liga again.
