I have read many posts about Bitcoin helping the poor people in countries around the World but I would like to find out more about this.
Bitcoin has helped, and is still helping, the unbanked. Generous bitcoiners who go to poor countries and organize bitcoin initiations of sorts, then report these adventures on X, can help these people by publishing their lightning wallet, for example (and everyone can send some sats). All the people who make their living from tourism suffered enormously during the COVID pandemic, and some of them turned to bitcoin to survive. Transferring btc is easier than doing it with Western Union and much cheaper too. Other examples include the
Ekasi Bitcoin project in South Africa and many others. There are many btc-related initiatives around the world, particularly in poor countries.
