Roma is currently in a bad situation and they are playing in a way that deserves all the criticism. Their league situation is not very good either and they are currently in eighth place. They will play a knockout match against Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League. I think they will prepare well for this match and their only goal will be to win the Europa League. They can be strong enough to beat the Spanish team. They should enter a better period for Serie A right now.
With Roma I don't expect that we even bother so much with having to criticise them any longer because they still looking like a team still growing because I don't know how best again to describe their situation, at a time they appear so promising with very good results and the other time they begin to struggle so hard to even make good play for their games, so even at the europa I feel it's best to just consider them like any regular team at this point and except they get lucky, I don't see them been considered a top competitor both in their domestic league and the Europa.
They haven't been part of the elite group in the Serie A for a while now. It was mostly rank 6 that they achieved in all the recent years and the times when they have been a contender for maybe the top four have been over for a while. At least they had some success in the past few weeks, but for them it comes down to the Europa League now as there isn't too much to compete for for now.
