The 1st leg game between Bayern and Leverkusen in the Champions League round of 16 has just ended.
I expected it to be an even game, given the most recent results of head to head games between those two, but it was a completely one sided show.
Leverkusen got demolished 3-0. An early goal by Kane set the tone, then another one by Musiala in the 54th and then a nail to the coffin for Leverkusen: a red card for Mukiele in the 62nd minute - after that, it was clear that Leverkusen wouldn't be able to do much and limited themselves to defense but with no luck, as they lost another one with Kane scoring from a penalty.
Looks like the Champions League dream is pretty much over for Leverkusen.
Unfortunately we all know that the Champions League is a truly hard competition, just see the teams that have been eliminated, the thing that can tell himself the leverkusen is that in the end it managed to get to this point, if you see this thing you understand that it is one of the strongest teams in Europe, certainly among the top 16 and it is not bad as a result if one thinks well
With this awareness he can work to improve more, perhaps next year!
Champions League is a strong competition that is why the best performing teams from different league come out to represent their league every season and yes all the teams that was eliminated before they got to this stage they are right now tried their best but I guess they would go and prepare better for next season. Bayer Leverkusen losing against Bayern Munich is not a bad loss because they lost to the better side and a team that has been performing better than they are this season in all competition, they lost yesterday but they have another opportunity to focus more on the league games so they can challenge Bayern Munich and see if they can stop them from achieving the league title this season. Bayer Leverkusen needs to work on their performance so they can be a threat to other teams like they were last season, they should should think of adding more good players to the team to strengthen them to defeat their opponent.
