We all know that in the early years a lot of bitcoins were lost because they were worth pennies, most people didn't even imagine where this could go, there was no HW and things like that. But even though the bitcoin loss rate has been reduced in the last years I am sure there will still be human errors like the one in the quote that will end up with bitcoin loss, which is not bad for the rest because as Satoshi said they are like a donation.
Do you know of similar cases?
Agree with what you said even though currently the actual level of bitcoin loss is quite reduced compared to before because indeed many people are more aware of the importance of protecting what they have but at least there are always the same cases that always happen among us even maybe for our closest people.
I have never felt that way but indeed not a few people I know have experienced loss and recently there was a friend of mine who was just learning bitcoin but did not take advice from me and other colleagues who in the end he forgot the seed which ultimately ended in regret when his cellphone was damaged and could not be recovered from the contents of the cellphone including the wallet on the cellphone which in the end when he tried with a new cellphone he obviously could not remember the seed or phrase that made him regret it.
This is just one example that in the end even though there are a lot of people who are aware of protecting the assets they have, in the end cases like this always remain every year or maybe even every month.
