This war happened because Ukraine joined NATO which is the core of the problem, so you could say Ukraine started this so the war happened which of course had an impact on the economy and many lives were lost. Also, Ukraine can see Chechnya, Chechnya was destroyed by Russia, but by choosing to return to Russia, now Chechnya is prosperous. Everything that Russia destroyed has been rebuilt and lives in peace.
Ukraine would not have asked to join NATO without NATO's invitation and enticement. Even NATO could dash their hopes simply by making a statement like President Trump's that war would not happen if Ukraine did not intend to join the alliance. But no, Europe has never denied that and they have always deliberately left open the possibility that Ukraine could join the alliance. So I'm not saying that Ukraine started this war, they are just pawns on the chessboard of Russia and Ukraine.

They all covet Ukraine's resources and territory, and there is no better way than to wage war on Ukrainian territory and seize the resources together and divide them among themselves. The United States and NATO will have the right to exploit most of Ukraine's minerals while Russia can expand its territory.
