Liverpool was very lucky to have escaped with this win and what a much more desired win it was, given the way PSG was dominant all game. You almost wouldn’t see Liverpool getting anything out of this match, not even in the statistics. They performed poorly on an over all, much you would accredit to the fact that, PSG was playing from home and are much more experienced than you would say for Liverpool with so much quality on their team. Even with all that, Liverpool somehow found the net and sealed the game in a 0:1 game win.
Indeed Liverpool were very lucky on the night not to have conceded a goal or more from PSG’s dangerous attacking play throughout the game. If anyone deserves to win based on performance it should be PSG clearly. I hope Liverpool do not perform this way in tge second leg if not they might not be as lucky as they were in the first leg but defensively they were good and Allison’s brilliance was the highlight of the day.
Many have criticized Liverpool performance in the first leg, and I agree that they were lucky to win. Alisson Becker was impressive, he denied many PSG chances, in my opinion it was his best performance of the season. I am quite sure that luck will be on PSG side in the second leg if Arne Slot does not change his squad game strategy, considering that Luis Enrique is very experienced in reading his opponent's weaknesses. Given the ambition of both teams, it is likely that both will be able to score goals.
