Arsenal had lost their chances of competing with Liverpool for the premier league title when they lost at home to West Ham that is an incredible result since then the team had became a shadow of former self except in UCL where the club is on verge of qualifying for the quarterfinals, it's a pity Arsenal drew Man Utd and could have even lost that match of not for Raya brilliant saves, this is a match they dominated and took most of the possessions yet couldn't find the back of the net due to lack of a competent striker now the team would end up as a runner up in three consecutive seasons absolutely squandered their chances of winning due to lack of depth in their squad.
They have one of the best squads regardless of how their results are in the premier league. Not winning the premier league trophy for three season in succession will be one of the worst outcome for them in the premier league since they recovered from their poor form which lasted for quite a while before Arteta took over and revived the team now.
Drawing the game with Manchester United has indeed been one of the worst outcome yet again for them, they should have done better and keep up the good form and point difference which will help them for the league title race. Arsenal will be having a tough time now as the premier league title chase seems to be sliding off their hands due to their consecutive poor forms, maybe they should try again next season as this season seems to be over for them.
It is still not the time to say that Liverpool will win the Premier League trophy this season, but with Arsenal continuing to drop points, people are now increasingly convinced that Liverpool will emerge as champions. Arteta has not said the word give up in the hunt for trophies, but psychologically they have been eliminated from the competition. Beating Manchester United should have been an easy task, because Ruben Amorim team performance is really slumping, but Arsenal failed to do it and even almost suffered defeat.
If accumulated, Arsenal have been trophyless for two decades, since the last time they won it in the 2003/2004 season. Manchester City decline in performance should have been a great opportunity for Arsenal, but it was Liverpool who managed to take advantage of the momentum. Next season, without a better quality striker, I think Arteta will also experience the same fate. Arteta will probably use injury problems as the main reason why they failed again this season.
