Question: Are there some "non-addicted" players here who have suggestions to help others be more controlled?

There is what we call self-conviction. There is no amount of suggestions/advice you will give to an addicted gambler for him to quit gambling that will make him quit unless he has self-conviction or should I say self-realization. Addictions is something that is hard to deal with. Most people go to rehab and after some time, go back to do the same thing they were admitted for addiction.
Self control is everything and the remedy to addiction, it is not easy but you have no choice than to be discipline and do what you need to do to be free from addiction.
Sometimes it is very difficult to have self control when you lack understanding, for gambler that addicted to gambling they need to first understand gambling, the uncertainty, the risk involve in gambling and winning as a luck. Understanding all these I think it can be easy for one to apply self control but when one still struggles to understand, then self control is just a waste of time because it won't work.
