The President Bola Tinubu-led Nigerian government has ordered continuous salary deductions from federal workers to recover "excess payments" made in December 2024, blaming the situation on a system error.
If it was as a result of excess payment then i have no issue with the order. I was surprised when i saw the headline so i have to make my own research to find out that the information is not on any well known reporters website like Vanguard and the rest. How sure is this since its Saharareporters sharing the information with Facebook and YouTube. Dont get me all wrong here, i am just saying that the information has to be solid so that we dont go around spreading the wrong information.
But if it is true then its no big deal. He paid them more so he has to balance it all up.I understand the point you are trying to say here, but if you look at the op post again, you will see where he said that these civil servants initially thought that it was an exmas bonus that was added to their take home salary, which I believe that you and I will be thinking the same if we were in their shoes, but honestly it would really be a bitter pills for the civil servants to swallow considering how costly the price of things are in our society today.
In my sincere opinion this wouldn't have been a big deal if they hard created awareness about this earlier like in that festive season when the money was paid, so that people would have prepared their mind that the money will be recovered back, and they would have spend more wisely, but they stay mute till now that they have all moved on from it, this particular act will really be a bitter one for our civil servants workers honestly if this piece of news is actually true.
