Even though in Manchester City's match against Nottingham, we can see that Manchester City made more attacks, but we can see that Nottingham has a defense that can be said to be better this season than Manchester City. So in the end the attacks built by Manchester City always failed. Manchester City also dominated in possession of the ball but they still failed to win. Because in the end one of the attacks built by Nottingham managed to penetrate Manchester City's defense. In terms of squad depth, Manchester City is actually even better. but yeah, Nottingham is better able to show their maximum strength than Manchester City this season. And yes, this is the worst season for Manchester City in the last few seasons.
Attack without any fruitful result is attack for nothing, they were attacking but couldn't take time to check if there is any other place that is vulnerable in Nottingham, they were just eager to score but couldn't and Nottingham are now 3 points bigger in the table and now are becoming almost impossible to reach again. If Liverpool, Arsenal and Nottingham Forest are there at the top, the real fight is now between other teams from Chelsea to downward teams.
Manchester City needs to walk on their ways of penetrating teams defense and how to play attacking games and defensive games all together. This is something they have been doing for long over 4 years of their wins in the Premier League but all of a sudden, the pattern is no longer working and it's either they have refuse to improve on that or they were too relax to see improvement from other teams and now they are been cook on how to play wonderful games.
