Yes, it's all part of the illusion of gambling.

Casinos create an atmosphere of almost euphoria when you win, even a few cents, and nothing when you lose.

So, people still have this innate fear of losing money, which is stronger than the feeling of winning, but with the help of casinos their minds actually forget about the loss while they are playing.

Of course, when they leave the casino reality kicks in.
And I liked the phrase: "Reality comes into play." Quite a profound thought, if I may say so. I just felt that moment when a long time ago I left a gambling establishment with such thoughts. Well, it's as if I'm experiencing it again and again every day. I still can't get rid of this feeling when I realize that my pockets are empty, but for some reason I'm not sad.
