Despite Indian winning the Champions Trophy, my interest in the ODI format hasn't increased in the slightest since I spend my time watching T20 and Test matches here and there in recent years.
Personally, I feel that the ODI format should be scrapped completely and the ICC should focus a lot more on T20s and Tests in order to make the sport more popular.
It goes against the policy of "One ICC tourney every year" and they are committed to milk it so for now, it's not going anywhere.
Classic PCB move...
For the Champions trophy, which was scheduled on the subcontinent pitches. They forget to add spinners in the squad, but they are sure to bring spinners for the SENA tour.
And i don't understand what the f*ck Salman Agha doing in T-20 setup and that too as a skipper? He has played 6 T20Is with an average of 10 and SR of 80.
Pitches in Pakistan for ICC CT were batting friendly and we saw high scoring games, spinners were not required on those tracks. The only pitch in CT where spinners got due respect is Dubai. Pakistan team is visiting NZ and it's ideal scenario for them to win the T20 and ODI series because all main players of NZ will be busy in IPL 2025.
PCB has done a good move to hand over captaincy to new Salman Ali Agha and dropped Rizwan along with Babar Azam. With time Salman will learn and PCB will be able to prepare a good team for T20 world cup next year.
You are making it sound like Satner, Zampa, Maharaj, Aadil Rashid, Rashid, Nabi, Bracewell, etc. didn't do anything on Pakistan's decks. Pakistan also went with one spin attack on Dubai, so it's not like they were banking on spinners despite knowing Dubai's condition. For a decade or so, Dubai was a home ground for the Pakistani team.
If Agha is coming as a specialist skipper, then it's alright but his batting credentials don't justify his inclusion in the squad.
