They have no excuses to give it they fail to defeat Real Sociedad at home, in the first leg they failed to capitalize on their 1 goal lead to seal the game and it ended in a 1:1 draw now they are hosting Real Sociedad, I expect them to perform like their lives depend on the competition because that is their only way to get the qualification ticket to the champions league next season if they win the Europa League competition.
Real Sociedad is not a strong team but for Manchester United every team is now a strong team to them because of their bad performance they shouldn't look down on Real Sociedad if they must defeat them tomorrow they should just score goals as many they can to ensure they qualify for the next round.
But I saw that coming because there was no indication of Manchester United now suddenly being masterful enough to maintain that one goal lead. They haven't been that solid ever this season, so there wasn't any reason this would be any different against Real Sociedad, which I think still has all the chances to beat Manchester United. While I believe that it will be a tough game for both teams, Real Sociedad could be aiming for penalties if they are getting close to it with a draw in regular time. It's now Manchester United's turn as they are the home team and should not be willing to go to penalties.
But the other games are important too. I think there can be some very interesting results in the making and I am curious to see the matches for the next round. Still some great teams among the remaining teams so far.
