It was indeed a narrow escape and i insist that Real Madrid remains one of the best team in the tournament this season, it's not very easy to play against Atletico Madrid, Barcelona can testify to that, they're very inform this season especially at home and now that they've got lots of players with very good experience, you could see how tough the second leg was and if Madrid didn't score twice at home they would've been the team leaving the competition instead.
Atletico Madrid deserves some applause, they gave Real Madrid at tough time in this second leg, infact they deserved to win but Real Madrid were more lucky that's why the penalty went their way, I think Julian Alvarez's penalty kick played a role in Madrid's luck too, anyways Arsenal should get ready to be kicked out of the competition as well, Hala Madrid.
You call it a narrow escape, but it was pure luck in the end.
Atletico Madrid is probably one of the most feared home teams in the Champions League ever. Every time I watch them at home in the Champions League, it is unique how they get the masses and everyone mobilized. It's not like that in any other stadium.
My point of view is that Atletico Madrid the win simply because they had 8 attempts on target while Real Madrid couldn't squeeze anything out of their ball possession. Vinicius Junior's penalty was so bad that it's a shame he gets away with it because Alvarez scores his penalty, but gets penalized for touching the ball twice. Vinicius Junior deserved to be punished for that bad penalty, which was really really bad, and for his character. Too bad it didn't happen. 't
