Arsenal, Aston Villa and Bayern Munich have a very good advantage going into the second leg of the Champions League knockout phase with good aggregates while Liverpool who managed a goal win against PSG who were the much better side in their first meeting went head to head last night and PSG won by a goal difference equaling Liverpool’s aggregate and sending Liverpool home in penalties lol.
I was not expecting Liverpool to get knocked out by PSG at all, but that is why the game is entitled; if not, just look at the way Liverpool started this season. They were the only team that lost a single game since the start of the season in the Champions League, but all struggles end up with them being knocked out by PSG. What a story. But all the best; they will try again next season. Talking about the other teams that meet up to the quarterfinals, like Aston Villa and others, we wait to see those teams that will meet up to the semifinals, even though we know some teams will not be able to meet up to the semifinals due to their performance.
That is football: a team can be consistently winning and still fail to get a trophy at the end of the day. Liverpool was not lucky, and that is why they got knocked out. It wasn’t funny, though, but that is football. After they have dominated the Champions League standings from the start of the season, a team that nobody expected they would be able to defeat did it, and unfortunately, they got knocked out. As you said, they should try next season.
They still have the Premier League competition, and hopefully they will be the winner of the Premier League. Let's see what other teams will do in the second stage of the competition. Teams like Arsenal, Bayern Munich, and other big clubs maybe they'll do much better.
