At the moment, when I go to add/remove programs on my windows 11 laptop, it shows ledger live 2.85.1 which means I haven't updated ledger live in a long time. When I open ledger live, it does synchronize correctly though with the right amount. That is normal right even with old ledger live version? Everytime when I close ledger live, it ask me up to update to the newest firmware and I just close it.
The thing is I have not connected my nano ledger s plus to my laptop in many months. I am a bit concerned it might not work because of that reason. But there is no harm at all connecting it to my laptop right now with ledger live closed right? I know when you connect it to your laptop, you should hear a USB sound and then you would enter your pin and then get in. The reason why I don't want to do this now is because I'm outside the US at the moment but will be back in the US soon. So I don't want to be concerned now if it doesn't work though my seed is back in the US. Thus, I would feel more comfortable if my nano ledger s plus doesn't connect while back in the US because I would then buy a new one and get the seed to set it up again.
My questions as of now is this. I just noticed nano ledger s plus had 3 new firmware updates since 1.1.2. It had 1.3.0 and then 1.3.1 and then recently 1.3.2. So previously I was 1 version behind and then 2 version behind but now it has went to 3 and then 4 version behind. I am behind so many versions with ledger live as well as many months behind. So I should definitely update ledger live first right now right? Or do that when I get back to the US when I'm about to update the firmware? Then I should immediately update the firmware right? But I should first update the apps like btc first? I'm still on firmware 1.1.1 and it's on 1.3.2 and I don't want a situation where it's behind so many versions where you might not be able to update the device anymore. I have not tried to send or receive from my nano ledger s plus in a long time as well so I'm pretty certain if I tried that now, it would require me to update my firmware.
Are there people here who still haven't updated to at least firmware 1.1.2 and still on 1.1.1? I have to assume very few people right? And the only people are those who moved their crypto from ledger to another device? From what I read on Reddit, it seems like it would be foolish to still not update to an updated firmware now?
